So this is where the Bechdel Test came from.
Looking at this and other strips, it struck me that Girls With Slingshots is a straight up rip of this comic. The sexual orientations are switched but that’s it. The characters are almost exactly the same. You have the mopey white blonde and her fat outrageous minority friend. The only two expressions are miserable and smarmy half grin. Even right down to the bedroom scenes with their layout and nobody ever having sex because they’re too busy angsting.

I honestly didn’t expect such a stupid test to come from anything good but holy Hell this is shit.

At least it shuts up all the wankers complaining that’s it’s supposed to be for the film industry as a whole and not individual movies since the characters and premise of the test is to base it on individual movies. Also when you realize that making statements about the industry as a whole when the parts are radically different in terms of plot and thus character requirements and thus dialog requirements you’d know why the whole “It’s for the industry” argument is shit too.
